I never expected to grow so much personally when I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition last fall. I thought I just wanted to learn to help people eat better. Well, I got so much more than that.
For starters, I discovered so many elements to wellness beyond the food we eat. Relationships, stress, physical activity, creativity, home environment and so many other pieces can play a role in our health and overall well-being. IIN helped me personally understand my own intentions and set goals. I also learned that is okay and almost necessary to reevaluate your goals and intuitions on a regular basis.
Being surrounded by like-minded and supportive peers was also amazing. I was inspired by so many industry pioneers as well as other graduates. We all had different paths that led us to IIN and forever we will be connected through this journey.
Of course we also did discuss nutrition and dietary theories throughout the school year. I considered myself a well-educated individual but when it came to nutrition and my body, I was misguided. The program at IIN has helped me determine the balance of nutrition I need to support my body and mind.
Going through this program also taught me how to work with individuals and create programs for each person. As Joshua Rosenthal (Founder and Director of IIN) always says “one man’s food is another man’s poison”. It is always great to be inspired by others but finding what works for you and your body is essential. That is why health coaching and support is so important. I am thrilled to be a part of this ever growing industry.
Thank you to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for changing my life.
